Student IMPACT
Student IMPACT is a place to belong and a place to ask dangerous questions. At Student IMPACT, we seek to provide a safe environment where students at all places in their spiritual walk can have fun, build relationships, and explore different aspects of the Christian faith. It is a place that is driven to develop relationships, have fun, and talk about the topics that no one else will talk about. Student IMPACT meets weekly or bi-weekly and could meet at a variety of different places such as homes, schools, SRI Building or even at McDonalds. Student IMPACT will involve a variety of different elements including games, music, dramas, and discussion regarding spiritual topics. (Who can attend? All students are welcome.)

IMPACT Core
IMPACT Core is for students that recognize that they have reached a point in their Christian walk where they want to show their love to God by ministering to others. These are the students that recognize God’s passion for their schools and who want to make a difference. They have committed to meet twice a month for planning and ministry leadership training including how they can share their faith. They learn leadership development, how to share a testimony, memorize several verses, and learn how to deal with barriers that they may face when sharing with non-believing friends. They are also committed to attending IMPACT “Ground Zero” twice a month. (Who can attend IMPACT Core? Core Team Only. See a staff member for an application to be a part of IMPACT Core.)

How is everyone doing regarding the accident?  My husband was killed in an auto accident over 5 years ago, so I know how hard it can be.  Just wanted to touch base with you and see if you had an update on those that went to the hospital.  I have been thinking of you all.  Brenda

2009 (Sr. High) Paul's Missionary Journeys- Soul Survivor

So this past week I went to Camp McPherson for the second time this summer but not as a leader at this one i was actually a camper..

Our guest speaker was Pastor Scott Jenkins from Concord, North Carolina and God really messed up his plans with us because he ended up throwing two sermons away and God gave him two awesome different sermons. One of the things Pastor Scott spoke about was freedom. How totally awesome is it when you are free from burdens and pressures?? Let me tell you it is AMAZING.

I was freed from a burden and what was cool was that I shared my testimony and right after that service i prayed with about 4 people who went through a similar struggle. God is good all the time, and all the time God is good.

---One verse that explains the seed planted in several jr. high and sr. high students is...

(Romans 12:2) Do not conform to the patterns of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind so that you might be able to test and approve God's will. His good, pleasing, and perfect will.

-----by the way my tribe was the tribe of Zebulun and the kids in my group are all kids going into their Senior Year of high school its cool.. Keep the tribe of Zebulun in your prayers.

2009 (Jr. High) Soul Survivor Camp - Pauls Journey

This past week i was a leader at Camp McPherson which is where we hold our foursquare youth camps. In trying to be creative and get the students to have fun and learn more about God we decided to seperate based on grade into tribes. The tribe i lead was Asher and I had 8 kids all in 8th grade. The first day i had problems because I'm only 17 and the 13 and 14 year olds didn't feel like they needed to listen to someone who is soooo close to their own age. The Foursquare Youth director talked to my tribe and the very next day they were amazing.

Over the week i built an awesome relationship with every single student in my tribe however there was one girl in my tribe God told me to look after and God made it clear that i needed to impact her life. As i spent time with her i found out that she didn't want to be at camp her and her brother were sent there because her aunt thought it would be good for them. Her dad died two weeks ago and her parents are split she is going into foster care after today. She has a very low self-esteem and she told me the only person that ever loved her was gone.

I prayed for her for hours and i spent a lot of time with her I told her that I'll always be there for her and i love her. Carol needed my help and God let me know and over the course of the week just spending time with her brought her out of this shell. She redeticated her life and has chosen to go into missions and she told me i am her best friend. I'm going to continue to help Carol I'm going to be her friend.

Not only did Carol get something here though.. what gives me goosebumps is that my team DOES NOT know that Carol's dad died but that all came together to encourage and love her and I''ve never been so proud of kids in my life. These 8th graders are amazing and the maturity that they brought to the table over this week has blown me away. I'm excited to say that God is building an Army and the warriors that will be on his side are sweet... Please keep the tribe of Asher in your prayers that they not go home and without standing out, that they be a Rebel (Romans 12:2) that they can say no in a world that only says yes.
